The debut of the SV-R model was in 1996 when Lamborghini announced that they officially redesigned the vehicle to be a “true racing version” of the Diablo. The Lamborghini Diablo SV-R was the first of the luxury automaker’s supercars to be entered into racing.
In order to get this Lambo race-ready, the engineers stripped down the car and got rid of anything that was deemed unnecessary. They went so far as to replace the headlights with air intakes to increase air flow on the front brakes.’
